In the entire history of winemaking, not one winemaker got into the business because she loved selling wine. In fact, the most common lament among winemakers is, ‘Selling sucks!’ Thank God then for Chris Cook. In addition to many years of experience in the marketing world, Chris also brings a unique knowledge of the wine industry to bear that permits her to hone your marketing to a laser focus. Remember: No matter how beautiful that bottle of wine is, nobody will buy it they don’t know about it.Kevin Breck, Owner and Winemaker

The survey of our operations was very useful in understanding the composition of our wine club and the pros and cons our customers pointed out. It has shown us both our strengths and weaknesses. We learned that we need to communicate more frequently with our members by email and Internet to make them aware of our events. To grow our wine club, we need to enhance loyalty by making our members feel special through programs and rewards directed to them. And, finally, we need to have adequate staffing and make sure all our customers are treated with courtesy. Most helpful was Capiche’s list of suggestions. Chris has done a very professional and thorough job that helps us see ourselves as others see us.Traute Moore, Co-Owner, South Stage Cellars

In wine marketing, many people focus so much on learning about wine that they overlook having a solid foundation in the fundamentals of marketing. Chris Cook has that foundation. This is why she is so valuable to us as a partner in our programs and courses. On top of this, she is just a wonderful person who truly cares about the people she works with—and this provides her with an ability to genuinely connect with others. One only has to get to know her to understand you have a friend for life who is also the ultimate marketing professional.Tim Hanni, MW (Master of Wine)

We have known Chris and her work for a long time. We had admired her work with SOWA, the Oregon Wine Board, and on behalf of her winery clients. She shares a newsletter with PR and marketing tips for our Oregon wine industry. Most of us here in the Umpqua had met Chris as she has made in a point to visit most all of our UV wineries over the years.… So when we started looking for some consultation help in how better to market our region, the list was not long.Terry Brandborg, Co-Owner and Winemaker, Brandborg Vineyard and Winery

We used Capiche to help us redefine our goals and who we are as a company. Chris was instrumental in helping us come together to create a meaningful strategy through a series of five easy and productive sessions. We are excited to move forward and have her back to check on our progress!Crissie Olson, Owner/Controller, RoxyAnn Winery

I like your style!Jean Kurtz, Executive Director, Umpqua Valley Winegrowers Association

Thank you for organizing SO WINS (Southern Oregon Wine Industry Network) for 4 years. It was lots of fun and a great way to get to know you and many in the Southern Oregon wine community. Both Nick and I have enjoyed the connections, the contacts, and the sense of community that you have brought to our industry. I know it has taken a lot of effort and commitment on your parts and believe me, it was much appreciated.Emily Mostue, Owner, Dunbar Farms and Rocky Knoll Vineyard

Chris is masterful at bringing branding to life. For Rose Hill B&B, Chris artfully orchestrated the perfect team to implement the branding and marketing strategy. We created their new website with input from Chris every step of the way. I highly recommend Capiche!Erin O'Kelley Muck, President, Ruby Slipper Designs

We worked with Capiche to design and conduct a secret shopping program in our tasting rooms. We had a great experience. Chris was knowledgeable and easy to work with, and she delivered results quickly. The feedback we received at the end of each round of secret shops was very instrumental, and I appreciated the additional insights and recommendations Chris provided in our follow-up calls. Overall, the program helped us identify our strengths and weaknesses and develop an actionable plan for improvement. I would recommend it to others!Corina Farrar, Chief Operating Officer, Naked Winery

We are so grateful for the support you have given us and all of the wineries in Southern Oregon. The two of you add to the many who continue to elevate the Southern Oregon wine brand, and we look forward to being a part of that story.Doug & Dionne Irvine, Owners, Irvine & Roberts Vineyards

Chris and her team at Capiche Marketing are knowledgeable and great to work with. We are a growing company and with it comes growing pains. We used Capiche to discover underlying problems with how our tasting room was operating as well as to further educate our sales staff on the art of selling. I would recommend Chris and her team to any company, large or small.Chad Day, Owner/Manager, RoxyAnn Winery

Doing a Wine Club Member Survey with Capiche was a very special gift. We got real answers, real information, confirmation about what we were executing correctly and where we needed improvement. I would highly recommend Capiche Marketing & PR. The team was professional and provided information that we could use immediately. Capiche engaged our staff to discuss ideas and work toward the same goals. If we had walked away with one suggestion that would help us perform better, I would have been thrilled. We walked away with several ideas—including recommendations and feedback from our very loyal wine club members. I am so pleased. Thank you.Porscha Schiller, Former Marketing Director/Tasting Room Manager, South Stage Cellars

When I launched Southern Oregon Wine Scene, surrounding myself with the wine industry’s most talented writers and industry advocates was at the top of my list. Working closely with Chris at Capiche has proven to be one of the best business decisions ever made! Not only is her writing engaging and interesting, she always beats deadlines and genuinely cares about me and my clients.Whitman Parker, Publisher, Southern Oregon Wine Scene/Jacksonville Review

Working with Chris has been very effective. She took the time to get to know us and our business and didn’t waste any time making things happen. In an age where marketing opportunities are everywhere, Chris helped to take the guesswork out of which ones would be beneficial to us. In a short time, we found ourselves in feature articles and cover stories in targeted publications and on TVcreating a buzz around 2Hawk’s change in ownership and quality. This really helped to set the stage as we introduce a new era of quality wines.Jen Allen, Owner & Retail Operations Manager, 2Hawk Vineyard & Winery

I first met Chris while we were both students at Southern Oregon Wine Institute. Combining that knowledge with her three decades of marketing experience, Chris has become deeply involved in the Southern Oregon wine industry by advising individual wineries and writing for the Southern Oregon Wine Scene and Oregon Wine Press. Marketing is often the winemaker’s least favorite part of the job. Chris is uniquely positioned to help wineries to discover and define their brands and to sell that beautiful bottle of wine.Kevin Breck, Owner & Winemaker, North Bar Cellars

I have been collaborating with Chris Cook on a range of creative projectspublications, websites, marketing collateral, ads, branding, and graphic identityfor over a decade. One of the best examples of how connected and committed Chris is to the wine industry can best be illustrated by her recent cover story that featured 2Hawk Winery owners Ross and Jen Allen. The story served to not only capture the essence of their personal story but the emerging story of the entire region. Working with a writer and advocate who truly gets the gist of what’s happening here is worth its weight in gold medals!Whitman Parker, Publisher, Southern Oregon Wine Scene/Jacksonville Review
